 have tested VELBUS in our showroom for more than 6 months, while adding VELBUS communication and support into our products like for example TT455-RT-238.

Intro
 Velbus is a cost-effective easy-to-use but very advanced and reliable HomeAutomation and Light System, offering Light dimmers, relays and blind/curtain control modules. Furthermore an intelligent 2 x 4-button (and timer/clock) LCD/switch panel is available offering timing features.
Velbus is suitable for both small private installations (a few lamps in your HomeTheater or bedroom) as well as big installations (thousands of controls in a factory, warehouse, restaurant or Hotel).

At LinTronic we have added control to our TT455-RT-238 of VELBUS dimmers and relay modules, offering for example instant on/off, timer delayed on/off or specific light level control.

Some of the features LinTronic really enjoyed during our 6 month test-period was:
- Turn down light level in HomeTheater to 5% over 30 seconds when I hit PLAY
- Turn down light level in childrens room over 30 minutes when kids are put to bed
- Turn on outside light level to 10% when it gets dark
- Turn up outside light level to 80% when car enters drive way or other motion is detected and turn light level
  down to 10% after 2 minutes without motion detected
- Turn off all inside and outside light at 01.00 hours or when I activate the button called GoodNight
- Turn on all inside and outside lights to 100% instantly, when I hit the button called FullLight
Some of the many interesting key-points of VELBUS are:

  • Data-collision protected CAN-bus system, operating on only 4 wires (2 for power, 2 for data)
  • No special bus-wiring required, works on CAT5 cable in either star, loop or tree form
  • No need to keep all modules in the same space/cabinet, easy to expand or decentralize modules around the house, no master/slave relation
  • Allows two or more switches/buttons to be activated and kept activated at the exact time without loosing functionality or bus-collaps
  • Input modules ... working with all types of on/off switches ... pick-up the on/off status of switches, buttons, sensors, etc. and send this information on the bus
  • Output modules instantly ... with no delay ... convert the bus-information into light and relay on/off functions, controlling lights on/off, light levels over time, heating, ventilation, doorlocks, garagedoors, etc. etc. according to your configuration
  • Feedback LED's show the current on/off status of controlled relays/light
  • Easily configured with a screwdriver without the need of a computer, however the related computer software gives an excellent overview and back-up facility
  • Since introduction in 2007 VELBUS has already sold into more than 40 countries
