SETUP PROGRAM VERSION 001.002.040
Various enhancements (prepared to work with CD2 and PC modes in BEO4 in next release).

TT455-RX-232 OBSOLETED
As informed in previous NewsLetter, TT455-RX-232 has now been obsoleted.
RS232 strings are handled by the TT455-RT-238. We have started adding plasma tvs'.

NEW IR-to-RF AND RF-to-IR CONVERTER
TT-IR-RF01 has been replaced by TT-IR-RF02 which operates in a wider infrared frequency range.

CODES-DATABASE
One of the strong points about the LinTronic products, is the web located codes-database. In order to show the wide range of products controlled by for example TT455-RT-238, we kindly ask all users to please upload all TESTED codes you might have in local CommandList file, to the web database. Thank you.

SETUP PROGRAM VERSION 001.002.039
LinTronic's new kick-butt software installer/updater has been added. You will enjoy this fancy feature next time you update the SETUP program, offering customer-triggered automatic download, closing and removal of existing program and installation/updating of latest SETUP version. Also we have added an enhanced control/layout for finding, testing and opening CommandListFiles and commands.

OWNERS MANUAL
Upon request from a dealer in Spain we have added the possibility for installers/dealers to print out a neutral editable OwnersManual with your own header/tailer-text on your own company-paper not showing the LinTronic data/logo. Create a text file (OwnersManual_Head.txt and OwnersManual_Tail.txt if you want to include your own text/data and save the file(s) in the LinTronic SETUP library.

TT455-RX-232 TO BE OBSOLETED
As the TT455-RT-238 now offers customized RS232/RS485 support, the request for TT455-RX-232 therefore has dropped significantly as most customers need a mixture of InfraRed and RS232 convertion. We are therefore concidering obsoleting the TT455-RX-232.The firmware updates for -232 will soon be removed from our download section as it will no longer be supported. If you are interested in a last time buy, then the time is now, but do not get frustrated or order in panic, as the TT455-RT-238 will support your future RS232 needs.

How we customize your RS232 needs.. You email us the RS232 commands and we make a CommandList which converts a command-number into the required text string. Customized software for your TT455-RT-238 will then do the required job. Also this will enable LinTronic to inform other customers about the RS232 systems/devices supported.

Improved plasma/LCD TV operation. We will start by adding the RS232 commands for some plasma/lcd tv's, as the RS232 commands will allow you to set a specific volume level, instead of simple IR control which only allows you to adjust up/down without knowing wherer the level is at.

Seeking for testers. If you wish to control the volume of your TV to a specific level or carry out specific Power ON/OFF control by RS232, then write Michael at lintronic@mail.dk (Subject: RS232) and let us know which plasma/lcd TV you have. Please observe we need the RS232 commands listed in the owners manual. If not listed then please contact your local supplier/importer for the commands.

PDF FILE TRANSLATION
We are looking for cooperation with anybody being able to make a proper translation of our existing PDF file into the following languages: Danish (I'll do that :o), German, Italian, Dutch, French, Spanish, Polish, Russian, Finish, etc. We send you the english text in a text file and you return the translated text in a text file. If you are intested then write Michael at lintronic@mail.dk (Subject: TRANSLATION) and let us know your price for the translation. We are aiming to have the files translated before December 2005.

START-UP and RESCUE KIT
When dealers/installers start working with LinTronic, they often find that it would be nice to have ordered a couple of extra items in order to understand and support our products better. Based on this experience we are creating a 'Start-Up and Rescue Kit'.

The backup library is typically found under: c:\Program Files\LinTronic CommandListFiles\Session\<SessionName>\

SESSION NAME
We experience more and more devices using the same commands (for example all Sony TV regardless of typenumber). By reading the Session name which hold the devices/typenumbers this now translates correctly.

- "PLASMA, PANASONIC, TH-42PW6 DISCRETE" to "PLASMASCREEN, PANASONIC, TH-42PW6 DISCRETE"
- "PLASMA, PHILIPS, 42PF99XX" to "PLASMASCREEN, PHILIPS, 42PF99XX"
- "LCD TV, SAMSUNG, LW-26A33W" to "TV LCD, SAMSUNG, LW-26A33W"

SETUP VERSION 001.002.028 RELEASED
Included and enhanced BootLoader, enhanced CodeLearn section and CodeForm handling, CodeSet 706 added (Philips RC6 and OEM customers), CodeSet 723 decoder added (Pure, Samsung, etc.), CodeSet 737 added (CAYIN), CodeSet 738 added (DGTEC), CodeSet 739 decoder added (Nokia D-BOX I/II), V.AUX mode included in TT455-RT-238, ForceModes added in TT455-RT-238 Memory Map, etc.

BOOTLOADER OBSOLETED
As the latest SETUP program now includes an enhanced BootLoader, we no longer support/use the previous BootLoader. Please uninstall. Some customers in Windows XP PRO have experienced that when trying to remove the BootLoader program they find a massive block of black and white stripes and the BootLoader programs cannot be removed. This problem is caused by Windows Installer and the BootLoader can be removed by this procedure:
RUN REGEDIT (Opens the Registry database)
Click on 'MyComputer' at the top
FIND ... BOOTLOADER
Delete all Keys/Values referring to BootLoader.

TT455RT238 UPDATE 001.034.010 RELEASED
Covers both Hardware Version 4 and 5: CodeSet 706 encoder added (Philips RC6), CodeSet 737 encoder added (CAYIN), CodeSet 738 encoder added, (DGTEC), Codeset 739 encoder added (NOKIA SAT D-BOX I/II), V.AUX mode added, ForceMode added

RC6 ENCODER
The implementation of RC6 decoder/encoder allows us to control for example MicroSoft Media Center, Pinnacle Showcenter, etc. and all Philips RC6 code based products including Harddisk Recorders, TV, etc. We have limited the RC6 decoder to known products. If you own an RC6 code based product not recognized by the decoder, you will be asked to contact LinTronic, which will allow us to verify for example toggle bits etc. are handled correctly.

NOKIA D-BOX I/II DECODER/ENCODER
We have added control of Nokia SAT D-BOX I/II but we cannot test it. If you have access to a NOKIA SAT D-BOX I/II then please contact LinTronic.

NEW IR DISTRIBUTOR
Due to the interest for this device, we continue the already started development. This will allow HomeAutomation installers to let a PC/Controller transmit IR codes to a group of cabinet hidden devices, and instruct the Distributor to send IR codes to 1 - 5 devices at the same time. The Distributor will also work together with TT455-RT-238 Hardware Version 5, allowing the user to program which of the 5 IR outputs should be active when sending IR codes into a closed cabinet. This is very nice in case you have several devices of the same type, for example CD/DVD CHANGERS. Also this new Distributor will come in a low-grade version replacing the earlier Distributor.

DISPLAY MODULE
We are considering developing a programmable display module. There has been no feedback on that, so it is postponed. If you are interested let us know.

DIGITAL INPUT/RELAY OUTPUT MODULE
We are considering developing a module holding a number of inputs and outputs/relays. There has been no feedback on that, so it is postponed. If you are interested let us know.

LINTRONIC DISCUSSION FORUM
We get more and more requests on f.ex. the Windows event controller Girder, remote control of motors, relays, doors, etc. and we think it is about time that owners start using the already established LinTronic discussion-forum.

We have in June 2004 created a discussion group on MSN. You may visit it on the address: http://groups.msn.com/LinTronic
You may add a new discussion by writing an email to: LinTronic@groups.msn.com. Your email will automatically be distributed by MSN to all registered users of this group. If you want to participate in the discussion you simply add your comments by replying to the email. Sign up already now and start communicating with other users of our products.

Please note that to get the customer discussion started we have send out an introduction mail If you got this mail then please respond. We are open for opening a forum at for example YAHOO if you believe this is better. Let us know.

SETUP VERSION 001.002.028 SOON TO BE RELEASED.
In order to avoid the timing problem detected in some operating systems when BootLoading (updating firmware), we have enhanced the BootLoader and included it in the SETUP program. This gives a number of benefits. Thanks to Ronny, Peter, Raman, Tom and Thomas for participating in late-at-night and early-in-the-morning testing on different operating systems.

We often get questions about modes in the LIST selection in the BEO4. We have now added V.AUX and would like to include as many modes as possible: PC, PHONO, etc. Send us your suggestions asap, and we will include as many as possible, so we can get the new SETUP released as soon as possible covering these wishes.

TT455RT238 UPDATE
When the above LIST modes have been added, we are ready with a TT455-RT-238 update for both Hardware Version 4 and 5.
This update also include new features. We will return to that.

DISPLAY MODULE
We are concidering developing a back-ground lit Display (2 lines of 16 char's) module, which can be configured to show a larger number of customized messages/text upon detection of IR codes, activation of digital inputs, computer controlled messages, etc. Can be used to display mode of the TT455-RT-238, Garagedoor Open, Windows closed, etc. etc. etc. The unit will include both RS232 and 2-wire RS485 databus. Can be used as standalone device with a PC or together with a TT455-RT-238. We have started the design. Send us your ideas.

DIGITAL INPUT/RELAY OUTPUT MODULE
We are concidering developing a module holding a number of inputs and outputs/relays. Can be used to signal the status of different sensors, switches, etc. to the computer and or TT455-RT-238 and thus used to transmit IR or X10 signals or control relays. Furthermore it will be possible to receive IR or X10 at the TT455-RT-28, and send an instruction to a remote located i/o device to control outputs in an optional way, on/off, pulsed, etc. The unit will include both RS232 and 2-wire RS485 databus. Can be used as standalone device with a PC or together with a TT455-RT-238. We have started the design. Send us your ideas.

NEW IR DISTRIBUTOR
We are concidering developing a new programmable TT-IR-Distributor capable of sending specific IR signals to one or more (from 1 to 5) low-power IR outputs. The unit will include both RS232 and 2-wire RS485 databus. Can be used as standalone device with a PC or together with a TT455-RT-238. We have started the design. Send us your ideas.

SETUP VERSION 001.002.027 RELEASED.
RC5 decoder enhanced. DGTEC 738 decoder added. "Convert learned codes to flash" enhanced.

CONVERT LEARNED CODES TO FLASH.
At present we have customers asking us to flash-embed (plug-in) learned codes from non-decoded remote controls. For a couple of these customers this has taken up to 2 months, as we have been searching for the best way to offer a continued service. We have enhanced the procedure allowing us to create faster and better customized solutions and allowing us to make use of the color-sub-modes. We are ready to follow up on outstanding issues.
It is recommended you read the CodeLearn OnlineHelp, section: Converting learned codes into flash. As explained here we require you to copy the codes from the remote control, test the learned codes with the device and save the learned codes into a text file.
Then visit the OnlineMappingTool which gives you a good overview, color-sub-mode control and the possibility of online printing documentation. You set up the mapping and send an email to yourself. Leave the OnLineMapping open. The email includes a nice overview of the mapping. If you are not happy with the mapping, it is easy to correct if you left the OnlineMappingTool open and send a new email. When you are happy with the mapping listed in the email, then reply the latest email to LinTronic and attach the text file holding the learned codes.
At LinTronic we open the text file in SETUP | CODELEARN and click the button "Convert learned codes to flash", which together with your email, allows us to quickly create and modify the software required to comply with your wishes. At the end you receive a firmware update supporting your device.

Please comply with this procedure and we will have the outstanding issues solved in less than a week:
Dreambox - we might have this code set under control, ongoing test.
Foxtel Digital, Pace - please follow above procedure.
SetTopBox, Motorola, DVI5000 - please follow above procedure.
CableDecoder, Motorola BMC-9012 - please follow above procedure.
SetTopBox, SkyPlus, - we will require a txt file for each mode (TV GUIDE, BOX OFFICE, SERVICES, INTERACTIVE.

TT455RT238 SOFTWARE VERSION 001.034.009 RELEASED
New idea by customer - thanks Tom Jensen - When in mode "ANY AUDIO" and When in mode "ANY VIDEO" - introduced.
AUDIO MODE covers RADIO, CD and ATAPE. VIDEO MODE covers TV, DTV, DVD and V.MEM. The idea behind these modes is to ease the volume up/down control and reduce number of instructions required in the Memory Map. When in mode "ANY AUDIO" allows you to for example direct the volume control to a specific amplifier regardless of which of the RADIO, CD, or ATAPE modes you are working in. When in mode "ANY VIDEO" allows you to for example direct the volume control to a different amplifier regardless of which of the TV, DTV, DVD or V.MEM modes you are working in.
Cayin amplifier control added (code set 737).

SETUP VERSION 001.002.024 RELEASED
New idea by customer - thanks Benno Meldgaard: The SETUP program now allows you to download all codes into separate CommandList files. This is very nice in case you as installer bring your protable computer to a location without internet access. The procedure is automatic once started. Optional overwrite of existing files. The "OwnersManual" template is now included in the setup package, so you do not need internet access to show or print OwnersManual.
SETUP now include decoding of Pronto formatted codes starting with both "0000" and "5000".

THANKS
... to Mike Rupinski for his kind letter, which we have posted in the Testimonials section.

HOMEAUTOMATION UPGRADE
Version 001.000.0013 now relased. As a small New Years present, we have updated the HomeAutomation program to include control of Conson Concept 2000 Light Systems via the digital Output 1 of a FUGA-IR-455 or TT455-RT-238.
Furthermore we have enhanced the operation/features of the built-in Windows MediaPlayer offering for example a HomeAutomationFavorites and an extremely fast operation of updated and already played playlists.
Commport triggers from a Tabletop device are now filtered to prevent command replies to be interpreted as triggers.

CURTAINS CONTROL
At present we receive quite a few requests for curtains control.
We have several ways of controlling curtains. By InfraRed, Relays or by RS232.
We are very interested in supporting as many curtain interfaces as possible. If you have a specific curtain interface, please send us a copy of the installation drawings and we will create documentation as how we interface to it.
To learn more please visit: SUPPORT | APPLICATION NOTES | CONTROLLING RELAYS.
On the last pages you find a couple of suggestions and shown curtains interfaces.

TT455-RT-238, CommandList, Typenumbers.
The SETUP program now allows you to easily change a device typenumber. If you have downloaded and tested IR codes for a "wrong" typenumber, then please open the CommandList file - or download the codes from the wrong typenumber - and correct the typenumber using the "Change typenumber" button in the CommandList form, and upload the codes for the new device typenumber to the web-database, in order to assist future users with the same device typenumber. Thank you.

Converting IR to RF.
We have been playing with the X10 PowerMid - IR to RF converter - and have found that we can easily support products operating on RF codes -  318 MHz USA or 433 MHz Europe. By sending the code as IR to the PowerMid the code is converted into RF. If you have any RF working devices you want us to support from the BEO4 or the PC, then we are ready: DoorBells, Light, Relays, Garagedoors, etc. We will need to borrow your RF remote control in order to decode it first. Please note that we do not support RF devices operating on rolling codes as the mathematical algorithm is concidered impossible to predict/reverse engineer.
To learn more please visit: SUPPORT | APPLICATION NOTES | CONVERTING IR TO RF, SENDING RF FROM COMPUTER

TT455-RT-238 controlling relays.
We now have a couple of solutions for controlling relays. We have created code set number 733 in order to support the various solutions. This means your TT455-RT-238 will control relays by memory mapping the approriate code for IR, IR-to-RF or RS232.
To learn more please visit: SUPPORT | APPLICATION NOTES | CONTROLLING RELAYS

New code sets.
Velleman, Keyspan, Denon and Motorola Cable Decoder now supported.

TABLETOP SOFTWARE 001.034.005 RELEASE

To existing and new TT455-RT-238 users - even customers with TT455-RT-238 in transit not yet received:
- We recommend you Bootload update the firmware to version 001.034.005.
- Must work with SETUP version 001.002.015 and up.

New procedure for code testing remote controls
New customers find it logical to start working in the CodeLearn section. Unfortunately this used to mean that it took longer time to learn the difference between learned codes and the specific decoded codes in the CommandList. In order to make it easier for new and existing users, we have now moved the decoders from the TT455-RT-238 to the CodeLearn section and the CommandList section as well. When you start playing with this, you will very soon appreciate the new procedures.

SETUP handles remote control decoding
In this and future TableTop software, the Remote Control Decoders (code set receivers/interpreters) are moved from the TableTop to the Setup program. This offers a lot of benefits:
- Decoding is no longer real-time but code is sampled/copied in the TT and then decoded in the PC
- The PC based Setup software can hold an unlimited number of decoders
- All encoders (code transmitters) in the TT455-RT-238 are active - removes the need for customized software on updates
- Makes room in the LinTronic product for more features and encoders
- Development time-saving when adding more decoders
- Easier to recognize and verify decoding of users remote controls in CodeLearning and draw picture at the same time
- Learned codes stored in text files can be decoded later when new appropriate decoders are added

Decoding conflicts
Normally an audio/video device is designed to decode one code set only. Our Setup program must be able to decode as many remote controls as possible. We have experienced that some remote control codes on the market - very close or identical in timing - causes two or more decoders to present a suggested result. The Setup program allows you to disable unwanted decoders.

Number of TT455-RT-238 converter-functions increased from 70 to 75
By introducing the above we can make room for additional 5 converter-functions in the TT455-RT-238.

Controls 5 different devices/function-groups in each mode: TV, LIGHT, RADIO, SAT, DVD, CD, VTAPE and ATAPE
This release allows you to enter color mode (Red, Blue, Yellow, Green) in each of the above mentioned modes, which enhances the BEO4 to work in 40 modes instead of the above 8. This is great for control of up to 5 different TV's in TV mode, or menu- and/or functions-selection in for example CD/DVD players. When entering mode Red the direction keys of the BEO4 may work as menu control (Up, Down, Left, Right, Enter) and in normal mode (no color mode selected) the direction keys of the BEO4 may work as normal Channel Up/Down in TV mode, or Next, Previous, Play functions in CD/DVD mode. A 25 second timeout will return the TT455-RT-238 mode from for example LIGHT or TV RED to the previous mode (for example TV, so the TT455-RT-238 follows the display of the BEO4.) The existing Color mode of the TT455-RT-238 will dissapear.

Additional modes
SPEAKER is added as wanted by a number of customers. SPEAKER is covered by the mentioned 25 second mode-timeout. implemented.

TABLETOP BETA-TESTERS: 001.034.005 - RELEASE

Control of 5 different devices/function-groups in each mode: TV, LIGHT, RADIO, SAT, DVD, CD, VTAPE and ATAPE

Setup handles remote control decoding
In this Beta release - and in the future TableTop software - the Remote Control Decoders (code set receivers/interpreters) are moved from the TableTop to the Setup program. This offers a lot of benefits:
- Decoding is no longer real-time but pulses/pauses are continiously sampled in the TT and then decoded in the PC
- The PC based Setup software can hold an unlimited number of decoders
- All encoders (code transmitters) in the TT455-RT-238 are activate - removes the need for customized software on updates
- Development time-saving when adding more decoders (Panasonic projector - 56 bits now supported, code 726)
- Easier to recognize and verify decoding of users remote controls in CodeLearning and draw picture at the same time
- Learned codes stored in text files can be decoded later when new appropriate decoders are added
- Makes room in the LinTronic product for more features and encoders

Additional modes
There has been limited interest for additional modes. Actually only SPEAKER and AV. AV will be added before the final release. SPEAKER is still being concidered but is more complicated to control.

Number of TT455-RT-238 converter-functions increased from 70 to 75
By introducing the above we can make room for additional 5 converter-functions in the TT455-RT-238.

As we wish to release the final 001.034.005 as soon as possible, we appreciate your soon feedback of the new features.

RELAY INTERFACE
There is an interests for controlling relays directly on the RS232 port. We are adding control for a VM129 relay card from Velleman. Read more at: http://www.lintronic.dk/velleman.htm

PAGING TABLETOP BETA-TESTERS: 001.034.005
We are paging TT455-RT-238 owners, whom wants to participate in the BETA-testing of release 001.0034.005, including:

Control of 5 different devices/function-groups in each mode: TV, LIGHT, RADIO, SAT, DVD, CD, VTAPE and ATAPE
This release allows to enter color mode (Red, Blue, Yellow, Green) in each of the above mentioned modes, which enhances the BEO4 to work in 40 modes instead of the above 8.

Many customers have experessed interest in more modes. Obviously the above described will enhance the current scenario quite a bit, and the request for more modes may thus already have been solved, but we are willing to add more of the BEO4 built-in modes if the request if big enough, for example: Speaker (Radio or TV ? Both ?), Clock, PC, Link, Phono, AV (to support earlier BEOLINK1000 remotes), etc. etc.
Please observe that "Additional modes" is a survery for the interest, not a promise to do it :o) We want to keep the operation of the TT455-RT-238 as simple as possible.

Number of converter-functions increase from 70 to 75
By introducing the above we can make room for an additional 5 converter-functions in the TT455-RT-238.

Interested ?
Return this email and in a couple of days you can download the above described enhanced TT455-RT-238 beta-software and related SETUP program from our Support section.

RELAY INTERFACE
We have a couple of solutions in the pipeline. Please observe that a very simple and cost-effective way of adding 115/230 VAC relays the the TableTop products is to connect the TableTop to for example a Velleman relay card:

TABLETOP VERSION 001.034.004 RELEASE
We have now relased 001.034.004 which is the final release of the earlier released 001.034.001-BETA.
New features and software changes, see Firmware History List.
Must work with SETUP version 001.002.011 and up.

Products covered by this update is: TT455-RT-238, TT455-RX-232, FUGA-IR-455, FUGA-IT-38

We support software for earlier and obsoleted typenumbers to the latest release upon request.

Please observe, that if you own a TT038-RT-001, TT455-RT-001 or TT455-RX-001, all of the features from these products are now included in the TT455-RT-238. You can change any of these products to become a TT455-RT-238 and maintain existing features by BootLoading the TT455-RT-238 firmware.

DOUBLE CODES
We experience that both Pioneer and Sharp might use DoubleCodes ( CodeA - CodeB - CodeA - CodeB - .... ).
The SETUP program has now been designed to automatically handle creation of DoubleCodes when detecting doublecodes in the code set 713 decoder (covering Bose, Nec, Pioneer, etc.) and in the code set 721 decoder (covering Sharp).

Nokia (and related OEM customers) also use DoubleCodes, but the code set is somewhat difficult to decode and reproduce due to very narrow pulse length (200 us) and code-varying pause-lenght. Untill further notice these products (mainly sat-receivers) are handled as learned codes and transmitted directy from flash memory. We have enhanced pulse-transmitter to handle 200 us pulses with an accuracy up +/- 1 us.

WEB-DATABASE
Now allows you to see a list of supported products from a specific brand name. We kindly ask all customers to web-upload whatever TESTED codes you might have in local CommandList files - yet not uploaded to web.

BUSCH_JAEGER

TT24115, RS232 SPEED- AND PROTOCOL CONVERTER
One of our HomeAutomation installers wanted a simple on/off control of 8 plasma screens in a supermarket, from the HomeAutomation program. The selected screen only communicated on RS232 at 115.200 bps which is not suitable for long distance communication/control with multiple drops/nodes. We created a speed converter program, receiving commands at 2400 bps over a 2-wire RS485, and converting into 115.200 bps at RS232 ensuring error- and noise-free control. Quite simple but very efficient. Read more: SUPPORT | TABLETOP | PRODUCTS

TT455-RX-232
Now supporting commport protocol settings and baudrates:
None parity, 7 databits, 2 stopbit, Even parity, 7 databits, 1 stopbit, Odd parity, 7 databits, 1 stopbit, None parity, 8 databits, 1 stopbit, Even parity, 8 databits, 1 stopbit and Odd parity, 8 databits, 1 stopbit at 2400, 4800, 9600, 19200 and 38400 bps.

TT455-RT-238
A new NoBusTx- and NoBusRx-filter allows you to block for transmission and reception of certain groups of B&O signals: TV, LIGHT, RADIO, SAT, DVD, CD, VTAPE and ATAPE. This allows you to optimize control of for example multiple TV's i different rooms.

Imagine you have an installation like the one illustrated in the drawing of an RS485 network. In one room you might want to have local control of the amplifier and you do not want others to control the amplifier via the bus. Then you would block bus-reception of RADIO signals in that particular room. In another room you do not want the kids to control any amplifier anywhere in the house, in which case you could block bus-transmission when operating in RADIO mode.

Your TT455-RT-238 might already hold version 1.33 as we have run some in-field tests, but it is recommend you upgrade with the version from the web-site.

SETUP
Enhanced to support above mentioned features. If you upgrade to new TT455-RT-238 firmware or to new TT455-RX-232 firmware, make sure you down SETUP version 1.2.1 as well.

HOMEAUTOMATION
Version 1.06 now released offering enhanced commport support.

FUGA-IR-455
Pursuated by a customer we have brought the FUGA-IR-455 back to live.

The FUGA-IR-455 is a B&O receiver. It holds a 2-wire RS485 data-bus making it suitable for transferring detected B&O signals over long distances (1000 meters). All TableTop devices listening on the RS485 bus, can copy the detected command allowing for example TT455-RT-238 to receive the B&O signal from different rooms and controlling non B&O branded audio/video in its own room.

The detected signal can be send to the computer using our HomeAutomation program to control: Music, Email, SMS, HomeAutomation, etc.

FUGA-IR-455 may also be used as a standalone product, offering remote control of relays, motors, curtains, etc.

TableTop - 5'th generation
We are currently designing the 5'th generation of the Tabletop series and we have earlier invited you to let us know if you wish for any changes. We appreciate the many feedbacks confirming that the current design is what you guys want.

SETUP
The configuration program now include a more enhanced CodeLearn feature, making it a lot easier to learn non-detected code sets. The learned codes are now stored in text files in the ...\LearnedCodes library. A new format for learned codes - format 2 - has been introduced. Format 2 allows you to specify transmission of the learned codes in the range from 16 to 80 KHz, as well as 455 KHz (Bang&Olufsen) and allows you to repeat the learned code from 1 to to 9999 times. Format 1 only allows repetition up to 9 times which is not alwasy enough to support for example Panasonic's long-repetition-means-ON and short-repetition-means-OFF commands.
Format more details on the new format 2, please see Command Reference, command 051 in the Support section.
Optional automatic software update detection now tells you when an update is available on the internet.

TableTop, software version 127 and forward
Now supports CodeLearn format 2
A number of customers with a plasma screen complained that for example TT455-RT-001 and TT455-RT-238 would receive strange codes when using the external plasma protected B&O receiver 8087030. The problem has been detected and solved thanks to the kind assistance and test by dealers and customers in Canada, France, Germany, Australia and Denmark.

Universal Remote Control code list
Does the TableTop only cover the brandname listed on the web-sites database ?
No - the TableTop coverage is much wider than that. The listed brandnames are the brandnames offering industrial code sets. Most remote controls are based on a licensed code set from for example Philips, NEC etc. As Philips and NEC are already included in or code collection, we actually cover all remote controls using these code sets. We kindly ask all users to upload detected remote controls (commandslist) to the internet database within the SETUP program

HELP
In order to give a better picture of the TableTop's coverage, we need your help:
If you own a universal remote control then please test your audio/video devices and let us know the code number controlling your devices. If for example code number 088 operates your TV then we will go through the code list of all our universal remote controls and let you and all of our customers know how many brands/devices use the same code.
Please advise device (TV, Video) and brandname (Medion, Dantax, etc.) and code number.

Your assistance is highly appreciated.

BOSE LIFESTYLE 28/35
The TT455-RT-003 offering BEO4 remote control of a BOSE LIFESTYLE system 28 and 35 was originally designed for existing Bang&Olufsen TV owners whom wants to control a BOSE system from the BEO4, but is now available in several versions:

HOMEAUTOMATION
We have designed a trial version of a HomeAutomation program, offering unlimited infrared conversion for control of infrared and RS232 controlled devices like audio/Video, curtains, aircondition, light,  etc. The program is intended to be expanded with a wide range of 3'rd party and open prototocols. In order to ensure that we include the protocols most suitable for our customers, we kindly ask you to download, install and evaluate this program. Let us know which other systems you would like to control.
Read more about HomeAutomation - which is a free-of-charge promotion tool for our TT455-RT-238 - at the SUPPORT section.

IR SETUP
New version 1.1.97supporting HomeAutomation has been released. Furthermore we have corrected an error in the detection of Sony 20 bits codes for the TT455-RT-238 CommandLists, and we have added handling of Pioneer Double codes.

SOURCE CODE, mod_Lintronic.bas
Earlier we offered a DLL holding all features of the InfraRed products. We have received many questions from newbee programmers on how to handle a DLL. In order to make it easier to work with our products we have now released a module  holding all of the source code to operate with our InfraRed products. Look in the SUPPORT section if you interested.

PIONEER PLASMA PDP-434
For a customer in Holland we have created a special software for controlling the Pioneer Plasma screen PDP-434 directly on the tuners RS232 service connector. The software can be used both from a TableTop converter as well as from a computer. This job was later copied for a Danish customer controlling a complete Pioneer HomeCinema system from a BEO4 remote control in connection with a Bang&Olufsen BeoSound 9000.

We are currently adding this control to include more plasma screens and we are aiming at working with a number of audio/video importers in Denmark.

BEOLINK CODES FROM BEOCOM 6000
We now offer support of the B&O link codes being out from the BeoCom 6000 when you press Dot-A or Dot-V and spin the wheel. For one specific customer this was used to allow him to control the curtains from the B&O telephone.

CURTAINS
The above job established contact to an importer of motorized curtains. We are currently writing an ApplicationNote for this solution and will later add the control to our HomeAutomation software.

LUTRON
Lutron has been testing our TT455-RT-232 for some time and is now ready to proceed. An ApplicationNote has been designed for Lutron's internal use and they are currently investigating whether this may be made public. We will return to this isssue.

WEB-DATABASE
Now supports more than 1.000 commands.

New software being tested for:
LINN, T+A, PURE, SHARP

IR SETUP
Version 1.95 available for download. Added support for "AllowedModes: Colors, Record, Text" and "BeoMode Any".

AllowedModes Colors, Record, Text
Mode means which device are you working with. If you press TV then mode is TV. if you press DVD, then mode is DVD.
The new nice feature, allows you to create 10 new modes: Green, Green Long, Red, Red Long, Yellow, Yellow Long, Blue, Blue Long, Record and Text.

Why this is nice ? Assume you want to control a DVD player and the Up, Down and Go buttons are already allocated to Next number, Previous Number and Play. Now you want to control the DVD players menu functions like Up, Down, Left, Right and Enter. By allowing the Mode Colors, you can completely change the functionality of the Up, Down and Go buttons by entering a new mode, and allocate any command you want to these buttons. So when you are working in any color mode, you can either extend the operation of one specific device, or you can specifiy that BLUE mode is for example your X-Box.

BeoMode 'Any'
Means you can force a specific code-conversion regardless of which mode you are working in. In other words, if you want the 'Volume Up' to be send to the Amplifier in both CD, DVD and TV mode (and more ?), you can now select 'When in mode = ANY' and 'Receiving Volume Up' 'Then convert to Amplifier, Volume Up' - which saves you a lot of programming and Memory Map memory of the command 'Volume Up' in the various modes.

TT455-RT-238
The first release of the PC SETUP software to program the new TT455-RT-238 has been released.
In all modesty, we have created a fantastic product.

Dealers are recommended to pay close attention to this new device. The interest from end-users is very high.

We have added a digital input allowing TT455-RT-238 to work with our Telephone Relay and with PIR, passive infrared motion detectors. This allows TT455-RT-238 to send out for example the mute signal when the phone rings and upon conversation start/stop, and it allows TT455-RT-238 to control light level of DinaLight dimmers upon motion detection.

We have added a digital output, allowing TT455-RT-238 to remotely control a relay (On/Off/Pulse) upon detection of a specific B&O code.

Also, TT455-RT-238 will very soon replace TT455-RT-002, B&O to Lutron IR converter.

Also we have added CodeLearn and CodeTransmit to the TT455-RT-238, and by adding a 36-40 KHz InfraRed Receiver at the external 3.5 mm Jack INPUT connector, it will then also be capable of replacing the TT038-RT-001.

We are currently in the process of writing ApplicationNotes and will return with updates in the Download section asap.

A happy NewYear
First we want to wish all of our customers a happy and prosperous NewYear. Appreciate your continued support and interest for our products. We hope to bring a range of exciting products and development news in 2004.

TT455-RT-238
We have found a software bug in TT455-RT-238, causing the TT455-RT-238 to convert some codes incorrectly.
This is a minor problem as the PC program to support TT455-RT-238 has not yet been relased.
Expected release date is still January 1'st 2004.

This is merely an information to all TT455-RT-238 customers, that a software update using BOOTLOADER will be needed when we launch in a couple of days. We recommend you already now, download the latest TableTop software, TT455-RT-238 from the Download section, and start playing with the BOOTLOADER.

We will support you with a Beta-release of SETUP in the next couple of days.

Customers Area
The web-site now include a new "Customers" area holding OrderTracking, Customer and NewsLetter Registration.
We will move data from the existing customer database, in a few days, however, we strongly recommend you already now enter your personal data and register your LinTronic products, for optimized service support.

Merry Christmas
First we want to wish all of our customers a merry X-mas and a prosperous NewYear. Appreciate your continued support and interest for our products. We hope to bring a range of exciting products and development news in 2004.

TT455-RT-238
The interest for this new product is very high and we are struggling to keep up. We emphasize that the PC software supporting this product is very close to being released and the TT455-RT-238 will NOT work without it. However, we had to start delivering as customer orders are piling up.

The good news, is that all customers and dealers, will be sharing a web-database. This database will hold all functions from the remote controls stored in the TT455-RT-238 by the individual user/dealer. The PC software is being created to offer the best possible use of this database. We are currently refining the last bits and pieces. It is impossible to understand the magnitude and the great functionality of this database, but you can get an idea by visiting the SupportedDevices.

The PC software will also support the writing of a customized Owners Manual, depending on the configuration of the actual  TT455-RT-238. If you want to get an idea of what this will look like, please visit the InfraRed Converter TT455-RT-238 in the Products section.

Customers having received a TT455-RT-238, experience an included 3-pin 38 KHz IR receiver. This is to be used as an external IR receiver and must be connected to the 3.5 mm Input, in the rear of the TT455-RT-238 but ONLY while reading 38 KHz remote controls. More information will follow shortly. In the mean time, please study the TableTop Technical Manual in the Download section.

OrderTracking
OrderTracking has been refined and now allows the customer to see ProformaInvoice, DeliveryNote and Package Label.
You can get a demo by tracking our test order.

OrderTracking
An OrderTracking system is introduced.
We appreciate the many feedbacks and suggestions as to how such a system could work.

We have designed a rather user-friendly system. Simply enter the email address from your order, and the 12-digit LinTronic OrderNumber, which gives you an instant overview of your order:
Dates for OrderConfirmation, Payment received and Order shipped, as well as Danish Post Track&Trace number, covering all 13 membercountries of the EPG (European Parcel Group) cooperation, offering two days delivery time to major areas of business all over Europe.

To protect our customers, we do not advise vital information like: Email address, ordered products, amount of money involved, delivery address, etc.

Furthermore, you have the option to change the status of your orders to "Order received" which deletes all tracking information.

New Sony codes
This week we assisted in an installation in Germany involving control of a Sony DVD player DAV-S888, Panasonic plasma screens, satellite receiver Kathrein C1, projector DLP Multimedia projekctor, Bang&Olufsen CD player and TV, lights etc.

This project was interesting to us in particular as it turned out that Sony use a new code set in the DAV-S888. The remote control (RM-SS880) sends both 15 and 20 bits codes - normally Sony is 12 bits.

We have instantly changed the detection software for TT038-RT-001 to detect all these Sony codes, which resulted in the new Command 817 (12, 15, or 20 bit Sony code detected). If we find more Sony variations they can be added to Command 817.
Command 802 is therefore obsoleted as of today.

Command 700 now additionally offers transmission of Sony 12, 15 and 20 bit codes.

The benefit if using Command 700 with a set of parameters, instead of creating a new command for sending infrared codes, is the developers can re-use the already installed LinTronic_IR.DLL and do not need to re-compile code at their respective customers.

Both FUGA and TableTop products can now be software updated from a computer in RS232 or RS485
We have added RS485 timing control to allow computer software updates.
Read more - click

Product software updates
Upon request from a customer, the FUGA-IT-38 and TT038-RT-001 are now capable of transmitting InfraRed codes in the 16 - 80 KHz range.

As the software offers more and more features, for example by adding TelephoneRelay support and PIR motion detector support, the chances for data-collision on the RS485 bus increase. For that reason we have introduced data-collision-check when communicating in RS485. The PRODUCT will check that the communication lines have rested for 12 ms before sending data onto the bus. This delay has no effect on the InfraRed detection and is not visible for the user.

Windows software updates
SETUP have been updated to support the latest LinTronic_IR.DLL (version 1.14).
- Setup added programmable IR frequency in the range from 16 - 80 KHz.
