HOMEAUTOMATION UPGRADE
Version 001.000.0013 now relased. As a small New Years present, we have updated
the HomeAutomation program to include control of Conson Concept 2000 Light Systems via the
digital Output 1 of a FUGA-IR-455 or TT455-RT-238.
Furthermore we have enhanced the operation/features of the built-in Windows MediaPlayer
offering for example a HomeAutomationFavorites and an extremely fast operation of updated
and already played playlists.
Commport triggers from a Tabletop device are now filtered to prevent command replies to be
interpreted as triggers.
CURTAINS CONTROL
At present we receive quite a few requests for curtains control.
We have several ways of controlling curtains. By InfraRed, Relays or by RS232.
We are very interested in supporting as many curtain interfaces as possible. If you have a
specific curtain interface, please send us a copy of the installation drawings and we will
create documentation as how we interface to it.
To learn more please visit: SUPPORT | APPLICATION NOTES | CONTROLLING RELAYS.
On the last pages you find a couple of suggestions and shown curtains interfaces.
A HAPPY NEW YEAR
We wish you and your family all the best for a fantastic 2005.

TT455-RT-238, CommandList, Typenumbers.
The SETUP program now allows you to easily change a device typenumber. If you
have downloaded and tested IR codes for a "wrong" typenumber, then please open
the CommandList file - or download the codes from the wrong typenumber - and correct the
typenumber using the "Change typenumber" button in the CommandList form, and
upload the codes for the new device typenumber to the web-database, in order to assist
future users with the same device typenumber. Thank you.
Converting IR to RF.
We have been playing with the X10 PowerMid - IR to RF converter - and have found
that we can easily support products operating on RF codes - 318 MHz USA or 433 MHz
Europe. By sending the code as IR to the PowerMid the code is converted into RF. If you
have any RF working devices you want us to support from the BEO4 or the PC, then we are
ready: DoorBells, Light, Relays, Garagedoors, etc. We will need to borrow your RF remote
control in order to decode it first. Please note that we do not support RF devices
operating on rolling codes as the mathematical algorithm is concidered impossible to
predict/reverse engineer.
To learn more please visit: SUPPORT | APPLICATION NOTES | CONVERTING IR TO RF, SENDING RF

TT455-RT-238 controlling relays.
We now have a couple of solutions for controlling relays. We have created code
set number 733 in order to support the various solutions. This means your TT455-RT-238
will control relays by memory mapping the approriate code for IR, IR-to-RF or RS232.
To learn more please visit: SUPPORT | APPLICATION NOTES | CONTROLLING RELAYS
New code sets.
Velleman, Keyspan, Denon and Motorola Cable Decoder now supported.

TABLETOP SOFTWARE 001.034.005 RELEASE
To existing and new TT455-RT-238 users - even
customers with TT455-RT-238 in transit not yet received:
- We recommend you Bootload update the firmware to version 001.034.005.
- Must work with SETUP version 001.002.015 and up.
New procedure for code testing remote controls
New customers find it logical to start working in the CodeLearn section.
Unfortunately this used to mean that it took longer time to learn the difference between
learned codes and the specific decoded codes in the CommandList. In order to make it
easier for new and existing users, we have now moved the decoders from the TT455-RT-238 to
the CodeLearn section and the CommandList section as well. When you start playing with
this, you will very soon appreciate the new procedures.
SETUP handles remote control decoding
In this and future TableTop software, the Remote Control Decoders (code set
receivers/interpreters) are moved from the TableTop to the Setup program. This offers a
lot of benefits:
- Decoding is no longer real-time but code is sampled/copied in the TT and then decoded in
the PC
- The PC based Setup software can hold an unlimited number of decoders
- All encoders (code transmitters) in the TT455-RT-238 are active - removes the need for
customized software on updates
- Makes room in the LinTronic product for more features and encoders
- Development time-saving when adding more decoders
- Easier to recognize and verify decoding of users remote controls in CodeLearning and
draw picture at the same time
- Learned codes stored in text files can be decoded later when new appropriate decoders
are added
Decoding conflicts
Normally an audio/video device is designed to decode one code set only. Our Setup
program must be able to decode as many remote controls as possible. We have experienced
that some remote control codes on the market - very close or identical in timing - causes
two or more decoders to present a suggested result. The Setup program allows you to
disable unwanted decoders.
Number of TT455-RT-238
converter-functions increased from 70 to 75
By introducing the above we can make room for additional 5 converter-functions in
the TT455-RT-238.
Controls 5 different
devices/function-groups in each mode: TV, LIGHT, RADIO, SAT, DVD, CD, VTAPE and ATAPE
This release allows you to enter color mode (Red, Blue, Yellow, Green) in each of
the above mentioned modes, which enhances the BEO4 to work in 40 modes instead of the
above 8. This is great for control of up to 5 different TV's in TV mode, or menu- and/or
functions-selection in for example CD/DVD players. When entering mode Red the direction
keys of the BEO4 may work as menu control (Up, Down, Left, Right, Enter) and in normal
mode (no color mode selected) the direction keys of the BEO4 may work as normal Channel
Up/Down in TV mode, or Next, Previous, Play functions in CD/DVD mode. A 25 second timeout
will return the TT455-RT-238 mode from for example LIGHT or TV RED to the previous mode
(for example TV, so the TT455-RT-238 follows the display of the BEO4.) The existing Color
mode of the TT455-RT-238 will dissapear.
Additional modes
SPEAKER is added as wanted by a number of customers. SPEAKER is covered by the
mentioned 25 second mode-timeout. implemented.

TABLETOP BETA-TESTERS: 001.034.005 -
RELEASE
Control of 5 different
devices/function-groups in each mode: TV, LIGHT, RADIO, SAT, DVD, CD, VTAPE and ATAPE
This release allows you to enter color mode (Red, Blue, Yellow, Green) in each of
the above mentioned modes, which enhances the BEO4 to work in 40 modes instead of the

mode of the TT455-RT-238 will dissapear.
Setup handles remote control decoding
In this Beta release - and in the future TableTop software - the Remote Control
Decoders (code set receivers/interpreters) are moved from the TableTop to the Setup
program. This offers a lot of benefits:
- Decoding is no longer real-time but pulses/pauses are continiously sampled in the TT and
then decoded in the PC
- The PC based Setup software can hold an unlimited number of decoders
- All encoders (code transmitters) in the TT455-RT-238 are activate - removes the need for
customized software on updates
- Development time-saving when adding more decoders (Panasonic projector - 56 bits now
supported, code 726)
- Easier to recognize and verify decoding of users remote controls in CodeLearning and
draw picture at the same time
- Learned codes stored in text files can be decoded later when new appropriate decoders
are added
- Makes room in the LinTronic product for more features and encoders
Additional modes
There has been limited interest for additional modes. Actually only SPEAKER and
AV. AV will be added before the final release. SPEAKER is still being concidered but is
more complicated to control.
Number of TT455-RT-238
converter-functions increased from 70 to 75
By introducing the above we can make room for additional 5 converter-functions in
the TT455-RT-238.
As we wish to release the final 001.034.005 as
soon as possible, we appreciate your soon feedback of the new features.
RELAY INTERFACE
There is an interests for controlling relays directly on the RS232 port. We are
adding control for a VM129 relay card from Velleman. Read more at: http://www.lintronic.dk/velleman.htm

PAGING TABLETOP BETA-TESTERS:
001.034.005
We are paging TT455-RT-238 owners, whom wants to participate in the BETA-testing
of release 001.0034.005, including:
Control of 5 different
devices/function-groups in each mode: TV, LIGHT, RADIO, SAT, DVD, CD, VTAPE and ATAPE
This release allows to enter color mode (Red, Blue, Yellow, Green) in each of the
above mentioned modes, which enhances the BEO4 to work in 40 modes instead of the above 8.
Many customers have experessed interest in more modes. Obviously the above
described will enhance the current scenario quite a bit, and the request for more modes
may thus already have been solved, but we are willing to add more of the BEO4 built-in
modes if the request if big enough, for example: Speaker (Radio or TV ? Both ?), Clock,
PC, Link, Phono, AV (to support earlier BEOLINK1000 remotes), etc. etc.
Please observe that "Additional modes" is a survery for the interest, not a
promise to do it :o) We want to keep the operation of the TT455-RT-238 as simple as
possible.
Number of converter-functions increase
from 70 to 75
By introducing the above we can make room for an additional 5 converter-functions
in the TT455-RT-238.
Interested ?
Return this email and in a couple of days you can download the above described
enhanced TT455-RT-238 beta-software and related SETUP program from our Support section.
RELAY INTERFACE
We have a couple of solutions in the pipeline. Please observe that a very simple
and cost-effective way of adding 115/230 VAC relays the the TableTop products is to
connect the TableTop to for example a Velleman relay card:

TABLETOP VERSION 001.034.004 RELEASE
We have now relased 001.034.004 which is the final release of the earlier
released 001.034.001-BETA.
New features and software changes, see Firmware History List.
Must work with SETUP version 001.002.011 and up.
Products covered by this update is: TT455-RT-238, TT455-RX-232, FUGA-IR-455, FUGA-IT-38
We support software for earlier and obsoleted
typenumbers to the latest release upon request.
Please observe, that if you own a
TT038-RT-001, TT455-RT-001 or TT455-RX-001, all of the features from these products are
now included in the TT455-RT-238. You can change any of these products to become a
TT455-RT-238 and maintain existing features by BootLoading the TT455-RT-238 firmware.
DOUBLE CODES
We experience that both Pioneer and Sharp might use DoubleCodes ( CodeA - CodeB -
CodeA - CodeB - .... ).
The SETUP program has now been designed to automatically handle creation of DoubleCodes
when detecting doublecodes in the code set 713 decoder (covering Bose, Nec, Pioneer, etc.)
and in the code set 721 decoder (covering Sharp).
Nokia (and related OEM customers) also use
DoubleCodes, but the code set is somewhat difficult to decode and reproduce due to very
narrow pulse length (200 us) and code-varying pause-lenght. Untill further notice these
products (mainly sat-receivers) are handled as learned codes and transmitted directy from
flash memory. We have enhanced pulse-transmitter to handle 200 us pulses with an accuracy
up +/- 1 us.
WEB-DATABASE
Now allows you to see a list of supported products from a specific brand name. We
kindly ask all customers to web-upload whatever TESTED codes you might have in local
CommandList files - yet not uploaded to web.
BUSCH_JAEGER

TT24115, RS232 SPEED- AND PROTOCOL
CONVERTER
One of our HomeAutomation installers wanted a simple on/off control of 8 plasma
screens in a supermarket, from the HomeAutomation program. The selected screen only
communicated on RS232 at 115.200 bps which is not suitable for long distance
communication/control with multiple drops/nodes. We created a speed converter program,
receiving commands at 2400 bps over a 2-wire RS485, and converting into 115.200 bps at
RS232 ensuring error- and noise-free control. Quite simple but very efficient. Read more:

TT455-RT-238
A new NoBusTx- and NoBusRx-filter allows you to block for transmission and
reception of certain groups of B&O signals: TV, LIGHT, RADIO, SAT, DVD, CD, VTAPE and
ATAPE. This allows you to optimize control of for example multiple TV's i different rooms.
Imagine you have an installation like the one illustrated
in the drawing of an RS485 network. In one room you might
want to have local control of the amplifier and you do not want others to control the
amplifier via the bus. Then you would block bus-reception of RADIO signals in that
particular room. In another room you do not want the kids to control any amplifier
anywhere in the house, in which case you could block bus-transmission when operating in
RADIO mode.
Your TT455-RT-238 might already hold version 1.33 as we
have run some in-field tests, but it is recommend you upgrade with the version from the
web-site.
SETUP
Enhanced to support above mentioned features. If you upgrade to new TT455-RT-238

FUGA-IR-455
Pursuated by a customer we have brought the FUGA-IR-455 back to live.
The FUGA-IR-455 is a B&O receiver. It holds a 2-wire RS485 data-bus making it suitable
for transferring detected B&O signals over long distances (1000 meters). All TableTop
devices listening on the RS485 bus, can copy the detected command allowing for example
TT455-RT-238 to receive the B&O signal from different rooms and controlling non
B&O branded audio/video in its own room.
The detected signal can be send to the computer using our HomeAutomation program to
control: Music, Email, SMS, HomeAutomation, etc.
FUGA-IR-455 may also be used as a standalone product, offering remote control of relays,
motors, curtains, etc.
Can be surface mounted or integrated into the wall. Comes fully programmed and
ready-to-use.
HOMEAUTOMATION
Version 1.05 now released offering the long wanted MacroControl and support for
99 commports.
Also supports Windows MediaPlayer control, remote controlled Email and SMS generation.

External receiver 38 KHz
When shipping the TT455-RT-238 and TT038-RT-001, we include a TSOP1238 (external
38 KHz receiver). Depending on the noise level on your power supply, the TSOP1238 may be
disturbed by ripple-noise on the power line. If you are having problems detecting or
CodeLearning a 38 KHz remote control, we suggest you add a 220 uF capacitor to the
TSOP1238 to kill the noise from the power line. TableTop

easier to learn non-detected code sets. The learned codes are now stored in text files in
the ...\LearnedCodes library. A new format for learned codes - format 2 - has been
introduced. Format 2 allows you to specify transmission of the learned codes in the range
from 16 to 80 KHz, as well as 455 KHz (Bang&Olufsen) and allows you to repeat the
learned code from 1 to to 9999 times. Format 1 only allows repetition up to 9 times which
is not alwasy enough to support for example Panasonic's long-repetition-means-ON and
short-repetition-means-OFF commands.
Format more details on the new format 2, please see Command Reference, command 051 in the
Support section.
Optional automatic software update detection now tells you when an update is available on
the internet.
TableTop, software version 127 and forward
Now supports CodeLearn format 2
A number of customers with a plasma screen complained that for example TT455-RT-001 and
TT455-RT-238 would receive strange codes when using the external plasma protected B&O
receiver 8087030. The problem has been detected and solved thanks to the kind assistance
and test by dealers and customers in Canada, France, Germany, Australia and Denmark.
Universal Remote Control code list
Does the TableTop only cover the brandname listed on the web-sites database ?
No - the TableTop coverage is much wider than that. The listed brandnames are the
brandnames offering industrial code sets. Most remote controls are based on a licensed
code set from for example Philips, NEC etc. As Philips and NEC are already included in or
code collection, we actually cover all remote controls using these code sets. We kindly
ask all users to upload detected remote controls (commandslist) to the internet database
within the SETUP program
HELP
In order to give a better picture of the TableTop's coverage, we need your help:
If you own a universal remote control then please test your audio/video devices and let us
know the code number controlling your devices. If for example code number 088 operates
your TV then we will go through the code list of all our universal remote controls and let
you and all of our customers know how many brands/devices use the same code.
Please advise device (TV, Video) and brandname (Medion, Dantax, etc.) and code number.
Your assistance is highly appreciated.

HOMEAUTOMATION
We have designed a trial version of a HomeAutomation program, offering unlimited
infrared conversion for control of infrared and RS232 controlled devices like audio/Video,
curtains, aircondition, light, etc. The program is intended to be expanded with a
wide range of 3'rd party and open prototocols. In order to ensure that we include the
protocols most suitable for our customers, we kindly ask you to download, install and
evaluate this program. Let us know which other systems you would like to control.
Read more about HomeAutomation - which is a free-of-charge promotion tool for our
TT455-RT-238 - at the SUPPORT section.
IR SETUP
New version 1.1.97supporting HomeAutomation has been released. Furthermore we
have corrected an error in the detection of Sony 20 bits codes for the TT455-RT-238
CommandLists, and we have added handling of Pioneer Double codes.
SOURCE CODE, mod_Lintronic.bas
Earlier we offered a DLL holding all features of the InfraRed products. We have
received many questions from newbee programmers on how to handle a DLL. In order to make
it easier to work with our products we have now released a module holding all of the
source code to operate with our InfraRed products. Look in the SUPPORT section if you
interested.
PIONEER PLASMA PDP-434
For a customer in Holland we have created a special software for controlling the
Pioneer Plasma screen PDP-434 directly on the tuners RS232 service connector. The software
can be used both from a TableTop converter as well as from a computer. This job was later
copied for a Danish customer controlling a complete Pioneer HomeCinema system from a BEO4
remote control in connection with a Bang&Olufsen BeoSound 9000.
We are currently adding this control to include more plasma
screens and we are aiming at working with a number of audio/video importers in Denmark.
BEOLINK CODES FROM BEOCOM 6000
We now offer support of the B&O link codes being out from the BeoCom 6000
when you press Dot-A or Dot-V and spin the wheel. For one specific customer this was used
to allow him to control the curtains from the B&O telephone.
CURTAINS
The above job established contact to an importer of motorized curtains. We are
currently writing an ApplicationNote for this solution and will later add the control to
our HomeAutomation software.
LUTRON
Lutron has been testing our TT455-RT-232 for some time and is now ready to
proceed. An ApplicationNote has been designed for Lutron's internal use and they are
currently investigating whether this may be made public. We will return to this isssue.
WEB-DATABASE
Now supports more than 1.000 commands.
New software being tested for:
LINN, T+A, PURE, SHARP

IR SETUP
Version 1.95 available for download. Added support for "AllowedModes:
Colors, Record, Text" and "BeoMode Any".
AllowedModes Colors, Record, Text
Mode means which device are you working with. If you press TV then mode is TV. if you
press DVD, then mode is DVD.
The new nice feature, allows you to create 10 new modes: Green, Green Long, Red, Red Long,
Yellow, Yellow Long, Blue, Blue Long, Record and Text.
Why this is nice ? Assume you want to control a DVD player
and the Up, Down and Go buttons are already allocated to Next number, Previous Number and
Play. Now you want to control the DVD players menu functions like Up, Down, Left, Right
and Enter. By allowing the Mode Colors, you can completely change the functionality of the
Up, Down and Go buttons by entering a new mode, and allocate any command you want to these
buttons. So when you are working in any color mode, you can either extend the operation of
one specific device, or you can specifiy that BLUE mode is for example your X-Box.
BeoMode 'Any'
Means you can force a specific code-conversion regardless of which mode you are working
in. In other words, if you want the 'Volume Up' to be send to the Amplifier in both CD,
DVD and TV mode (and more ?), you can now select 'When in mode = ANY' and 'Receiving
Volume Up' 'Then convert to Amplifier, Volume Up' - which saves you a lot of programming
and Memory Map memory of the command 'Volume Up' in the various modes.
TT455-RT-238 - Hardware Version 4
New version 1.22 for Hardware Version 4. Added support for "AllowedModes:

TableTop front-glass
We have received feedbacks reporting that the glue holding the front-glass might
break loose. We have experimented and found that it might happen in transportation and if
subjected to very cold environments. We have carried out some experiments and found
that silicone actually is a better solution. All future deliveries use silicone to glue
the glass.
Protection against Plasma-screens
ApplicationNote updated. See Download section.

IR SETUP
The last couple of days version 1.93 has been refined for enhanced customer
support. to comp, in order to comply with as many wishes as possible. We have added
automatic welcome pop-up message boxes when you enter Memory Map and CommandList
explaining what to do. Direct OnlineHelp. We have added the possibility of editing the
AutoMatch, BeoCommands, BeoModes and AudioVideoCollection from within the program. We
appreciate the many feedback. Over the week-end we will add remote control support for
MicroSoft X-box and Scientific Atlanta cable box.
NOTE: We often get "complaints" that new
downloaded and installed software/drivers do not overwrite the existing software/drivers.
Please be advised this is a Windows "problem". Make sure you uninstall the
existing "LinTronic IR Setup" before upgrading. When prompted whether you want
to remove "LinTronic_IR.dll", click "yes" or "remove all".
New driver is part of the installation package.
TT455-RT-238 - Programming
Updated guide to match the above.
TT455-RT-238 - Codes

Please see Download section, Service report 040110, how to detect and work-around the
problem.
1'st January 2004
TT455-RT-238
The first release of the PC SETUP software to program the new TT455-RT-238 has
been released.
In all modesty, we have created a fantastic product.
Dealers are recommended to pay close attention to this new
device. The interest from end-users is very high.
We have added a digital input allowing TT455-RT-238 to work
with our Telephone Relay and with PIR, passive infrared motion detectors. This allows
TT455-RT-238 to send out for example the mute signal when the phone rings and upon
conversation start/stop, and it allows TT455-RT-238 to control light level of DinaLight
dimmers upon motion detection.
We have added a digital output, allowing TT455-RT-238 to
remotely control a relay (On/Off/Pulse) upon detection of a specific B&O code.
Also, TT455-RT-238 will very soon replace TT455-RT-002, B&O to Lutron IR converter.
Also we have added CodeLearn and CodeTransmit to the
TT455-RT-238, and by adding a 36-40 KHz InfraRed Receiver at the external 3.5 mm Jack
INPUT connector, it will then also be capable of replacing the TT038-RT-001.
We are currently in the process of writing ApplicationNotes
and will return with updates in the Download section asap.
